I feel like I need to put up a new post. Usually I find some kind of inspiration. Lately I haven't really felt any inspiration. I suppose I could rant for awhile, but really I don't feel like it. But with the nationalization of GM, I just feel much like Senator Amidala commenting on the creation of the Empire in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith; "So this is how liberty dies; with thunderous applause." Our Republic is being destroyed by the Obama Administration, and far too many Americans are happy about it. It will be too late before we realize that we have given power over not to a benevolent dictator, but an evil one. But I pray that I am wrong. I hope that our leaders make the right decisions for America and I hope they can keep us safe.

That last congrats to Obama cracked me up. Yeah, it's a crazy time..just tryin to stay optimistic about the future despite it all. I love Star Wars.
It's amazing that Rick Waggoner got fired. He hasn't been there all that long. But then again, Barry knows so much about the auto industry...who better to run the largest car company in the world? Especially since the government is so good when it comes to fiscal responsibility. Ugly, unsafe cars here we come. At least they'll get 30 miles per gallon. But then again, since the government is going to be running the companies, maybe they won't have to meet those standards after all.
Americans pay less at the pump than the Europeans; plus they use quite a bit of diesel over there. If BO forces GM (& others) to build those smaller (less safe btw) Euro type vehicles, Americans won't buy em. Expect legislation (think tax hikes on fuel) to attempt to force us that way. Liberals love to use taxes to force "change"; they do it all the time w/ cigs & alcohol.
So, the word is that you're now a "moderately" conservative person. THIS changes everything!
Reck, I think that that 'quiz' slants everything to the left. The only questions I answered that could be taken as "left-leaning" were on gun-control and censorship. I answered that I agree with limiting the sale of assault weapons. I believe in knowing who owns guns, and I don't think any old person should be able to buy a gun. I believe in reasonable restrictions in the sale of guns.
The other one was tough. They had to do with censorship of books and print materials. (or something like that) I think that we should not censor things, (freedom of speech) but certain things should be age restricted, classified etc. There's no good way to answer that question (for me anyway) the way it was worded. So out of about 40 questions, I had 3 that could be considered liberal answers. (there were two regarding censorship) So apparently this makes me a liberal. I told Linda that she'd probably come out as Liberal with a picture of FDR under her name.
You've changed man..you've changed..
No, I hear ya; multy choice questions often don't have an appropriate choice.
Actually, I'm for censorin obscene stuff. I think reasonable people can agree on some type of decency standards for adults as well as children. I'd take it even a step further. When I go to my e-mail account w/ MSN, why do I hafta see singles ads w/ slutty lookin women grinnin at me?
Course, it is called hotmail...
Don't worry Reck, those ads are on Yahoo! as well. If you want to avoid those ads, I'd say gmail.
Happy Easter Nest & crew!
