Advertisements

If you are an avid reader of my blog, (all three of you) you might be wondering what happened to my advertising. Well I amassed a grand total of about $6.00 in advertising revenue, and they don't cut you a check unless you get at least $10.00. So the money wasn't really an issue, but even if my blog was bringing in significant revenue, I would have had to stop the ads after the ad that was up today. In the past, there had been ads that I didn't care for, but today, google crossed the line. Now I know that they just pick keywords, but there should be some sort of context assigned. There was an ad for a Pro-Death website, howmuchtime.org. I really don't know how they get a .org web address, but it is what it is. Anyway, here is a copy of my e-mail to the website, which asks how much prison time a woman should get who gets an abortion.

Your question is; "How much time?" I'd say life. Life in prison for the life she chose to destroy. Life in prison for the doctor who actually carried it out. A woman's right to privacy does not trump the child's right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. No person's right to privacy trumps the health and welfare of another. Since you decided to advertise on my blog, you will get an earful from me. 45,000,000 murders in the United States alone, all sanctioned by the radical, left-wing agenda, and allowed to go on by the silent masses. I will be silent no longer! Roe v. Wade will be overturned, or this nation will be torn apart, either from within or by our enemies. Abortion has no place in a moral, civilized society, and every nation that permits it will eventually be torn apart. The question should be; "How much time before God passes His judgment on this nation?"

So maybe you can tell I was a little ticked off. But I feel that unless we overturn abortion, which has taken more lives than Hitler, Pol Pot and Mao Tse Tung combined, just in America, this nation will be torn apart. Now as the election approaches, there is a choice for those who are Pro-Life. While this issue is not the only reason for my McCain vote, it is one reason. Obama's record on abortion is monstrous. But I think it goes to a bigger issue of character. Obama seems to do whatever he wants to gain power. He said he would take public financing, and then he reneged. This may seem like a small thing, but it is just one more little bit of proof that his word means nothing. If his word means nothing, how can we believe him when he says he cares about the middle class. And if he is willing to let a child suffocate or starve to death, who's next? The elderly? The handicapped? If he won't stand up for the innocent, who will he stand up for? When analyzing his past, I foresee an Obama Presidency (I think McCain still has a shot, and stands a good chance of pulling this election out BTW) as leading us down the path to a socialist or fascist state.

I know the useful idiots on the left don't believe this, but Mussolini was a Communist. He used fascism as a means to gain and hold power, and the roots of fascism, in Italy at least, were a leftist brand of fascism. I previously thought that Obama reminded me more of Jimmy Carter and even entered this as my answer to the poll question I had up last week. But I'm starting to think that he is more like Mussolini, and will be the last nail in America's coffin if we don't wake up. The brand of liberalism Obama prescribes to is the type that nearly destroyed Europe. An Obama Government is not likely to be any different, unless he is stopped. Nevertheless, he could be the result of our nation's indifference to abortion. I hope this is not the case, and we wake up soon. It's not too late to end Obama's run. Vote McCain now! McCain is not perfect, or even a real conservative, but Obama is the most radical Presidential candidate in the history of the United States. He needs to be stopped, and so does abortion. Call or e-mail your congressman and tell them to put forward legislation to make abortion illegal. Even if it doesn't get out of committee, it needs to be put forward, before it's too late.

More Bumper Stickers

I saw a vehicle with 2 bumper stickers today. One said "Obama '08". The other one said, "When Bush took office gas was $1.46"

It's the second one that made me scratch my head. While it may be true that gas has gone up while Bush has been in office, it has skyrocketed in the last year and a half under San Fran Nan's Democrat controlled, 'Most Ethical Congress'. In Bush's first 6 years gas went up about 75 cents. Since the Democrats have been running Congress, gas has gone up well over a dollar. The reason gas is so expensive is simply supply and demand.

China and India have massively increased the demand on oil, and the supply hasn't increased to keep up. We have somewhere between 6 and 16 billion barrels of oil in the ANWR. Billions and billions more on the Pacific and Gulf Coasts and an estimated 1 trillion barrels of shale oil in the Rockies. Tapping these oil resources, increasing the use of nuclear energy, clean coal and other sources of energy would lower gas prices and buy us time to find real alternative fuels without having to rely on Canada, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Venezuela and other nations for our oil. We could and should get most of our energy from here in America, not get it from countries who hate (or at least dislike) us.

The bottom line is, if you don't like gas prices (which no one does, except maybe the Democrat leadership) the blame doesn't lie with Bush. It lies with the Congress which has consistently blocked the creation of new refineries and has stopped all expansion of drilling for oil here in America, while still blaming George Bush, the Republicans, and 'Big Oil'. My challenge to Democrats and liberals (and conservatives as well) who don't like the price of oil, tell your Speaker, Congressman/woman and Senators that you want exploration and drilling to begin in America so that in 5 to 10 years we can begin to cut ourselves free of foreign oil.

California, RINO's and the Demise of Democracy

Linda mentioned this, and while I considered posting about it, I wasn't sure. Honestly, part of me didn't want to touch this subject which is why most conservatives probably stayed away from it. The only conservative talk show host that I know touched on it was Michael Savage, though others might have commented on this subject. I had another post in my head a few days ago, but since my internet was down for a few days, I never did post on it. Anyway, I don't have anything else, so I'll post on this.

Secular Commentary:

In California, where liberalism is alive and well, the supreme court overturned a ballot initiative which defined marriage as between a man and a woman. This initiative had been passed by 61%. Not 51-49, but 61-39 a fairly large margin, especially in a liberal state like California. The voters of California said resoundingly that marriage should be between a man and a woman, and I wholeheartedly agree. Now before the leftists label me a cold-hearted hate-monger, let me say that I do believe that in the United States, the free nation that it is, there should be allowances made that provide for EQUAL protection under the law. Meaning that there should be recognition of relationships as a legal contract between two individuals if they so choose. Two men or two women who have committed themselves to each other for life should be allowed to give powers of attorney, medical decisions, life insurance etc. to each other. Every American should have the freedom to designate another person of their choosing as their 'significant other'. However, having civil unions is not the same as marriage. I truly believe that marriage is a relationship between a man and a woman.

Religious Commentary:

There is significant religious and historical precedent for marriage being a union between a man and a woman. I don't know of any major world religion which would sanction marriage between two persons of the same sex. It could be argued that there are 'Christian' churches which are doing this, but they are spitting on God if they are sanctioning these 'marriages' and claiming to be 'Christian'. If they claim to follow the bible, they need to rip out a few scriptures; Leviticus 18:22, Leviticus 20:13, Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, and probably others that I can't think of right now.

A big deal was made about a US soldier shooting a Koran recently. It made me think of something that I will eventually use as an illustration for a bible study one day. My wife told me about a campus bible talk she attended where the brother leading the talk started ripping pages out of one of his older bibles. Some people were aghast, but really if you are not following the bible, it is just another book, like the Koran, or Aesop's Fables, you might as well rip out the pages you don't like. It has no meaning if you don't put it into practice. When 'Christians' sanction marriage that is in direct opposition to the bible, they are saying that the bible is not the Word of God, but merely a book with 'some good principles'. I believe that the bible is the inspired Word of God (2 Tim 3:16) which is living and active. (Hebrews 4:12) This being the case, I have to say that as a Christian, I am against same-sex marriage. This is not in a holier-than-thou sense because I recognize that I am a sinner. Homosexuality is not a sin I struggle with, but I do struggle with other sins. As a sinner, I have compassion on others who are in sin and instead of passing judgment as most Christians do, (even those I'd call real Christians) I'd like to say to those who struggle with the sin of homosexuality; "Let me show you God's way, let me help you to repent."

Getting back to the secular part of my post, I'd say that activist judges need to be stopped and Arnold Schwarzenegger needs to be recalled the way Gray Davis was. The 'Governator' has done a worse job managing the state of California (if that is possible) and has driven it further to the left. Now the 'Republican appointed' Supreme Court has told the citizens of California, 'Screw You! We'll do what we want (and what the far-left extremists tell us to do). Activist judges are the reason for this ruling, for Roe v. Wade, for rulings against illegal immigration etc. The courts are destroying America, and have overstepped their mandate as outlined in the Constitution. But then again, the Legislative and Executive branches have as well. Maybe someday we'll get our country back.

Planned Parenthood

I heard about this on Laura Ingraham's show. It is pretty disturbing.

Where are the Democrats on this. Where is Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson? Where is Barack Obama? Where is the Mainstream Media?

What's Wrong With America: Part III - The Merchants of Cool

We heard about the PBS special recently, 'The Merchants of Cool'. You can catch it on YouTube. If you are a parent of teens or even of young children, this should scare your pants off. Children are being targeted and marketed to like never before. Because parenting in this nation is so terrible nowadays we throw money at our kids. We are so busy working to try to pay for our 4000 square foot house that we throw money at our kids instead of spending time with them. We give them cell phones, laptops, iPods, etc. They spend 50 times more time plugged into television and the internet than they do talking to their parents.

But they are not alone. There are people making millions and millions of dollars to figure out how to best target the kids today, so that our kids will spend money on the coolest new thing. But what is cool? Pimps, ho's, drugs, sex, violence. All of this on a scale not seen in a long time. What is cool is always on the edge. Always pushing the limits of our sensibilities. Yet, since we feel bad that we have neglected our children what do we do? We turn a blind eye and give our kids more money so they can buy that new game, gadget or new fashion trend. We let our daughters buy the pants with something written on the butt. Forget the fact that those pants are not made for girls but for guys, so that guys can stare at her butt. You don't worry about that. She knows better right? Your son knows better right? Well Dad, if you haven't been spending time with your daughter, she'll get the male attention that is supposed to come from daddy from anywhere she can get it. If your sons don't have an example of real manhood at home, their example will be 50Cent. Then we ask, 'Why is my daughter pregnant'? Or 'Why does she have an STD'? We ask why our kids don't talk to us.

I personally need to do a better job of spending time with my children. Not just spending a few minutes. I'm talking about REAL, QUALITY time with them. This year has been better, but not as good as it should be. Most Americans need to do the same. If this does not apply to you, the reader, then that is wonderful, I hope it doesn't. But do you know what your kids are doing? Do you know their friends? Are they open with you? If not, spend time with them. They want it, whether they will admit it or not. They need to know that they are accepted by their parents, and the sooner the better. If not, they will search for acceptance elsewhere, and what is being offered by the world is downright scary.

What's Wrong with America Part II a : Liberalism

Continuing on my liberalism theme, I'll now talk about socialism. We have in our choices for president of three levels of socialists. The most dangerous I believe is Barack Obama. Hillary Clinton would be next and then John McCain.

Why is socialism bad? I'm glad you asked. It gives little to no incentive for people to work harder. The problem with socialism isn't poor work ethic, it's the fact that profits, ownership, wealth etc. are great incentives for people to work harder. When you take these incentives away, work ethic follows. Now maybe you're thinking, those things (profits, ownership and wealth) are BAD! Taken to excess, I would agree, however there is nothing inherently wrong about striving for success. It is what has made America great for centuries. People from all over the world have flocked here; why? Because of our wonderful social security benefits? No. How about our free health care? Nope. People have come here because if you work hard enough and make the right choices, you can be successful. It doesn't matter who you are, with hard work you can succeed in America.

What does socialism carried out to a more full extent do? It says, 'you are smart enough to work these types of jobs'. It says, 'do your job and you can get a place to live just like everyone else as 'good' as you'. You get so many rations for food (regardless of whether or not that food is available) and work this job for the rest of your life. You don't really own anything. You get the same things whether you work hard or not, so why work hard? Why strive to be better? If you run a store, you will get the same things whether you sell 1 item or 100, so why strive to be successful. If you are a farmer and you give all of the food you grow to the government only for them to give you some rations back regardless of how much you grow, why would you spend time breaking your back working the government's fields? You would just grow enough to keep the government off of your back. Now you might say, 'those people just have poor work ethic', but most people in those conditions will do the same thing eventually.

Now our three candidates aren't proposing the Soviet Union for America. (at least not yet) But they are proposing things that are leading us down the road to hard core socialism. All three have either said they want to raise taxes or (in the case of McCain) have voted against tax cuts. The liberal doctrine says, 'those tax cuts are just for the rich.' Well how many poor men (or women) have you ever worked for? If the rich are taxed higher, they can't afford as many employees, meaning they will spend less money and save more which means less jobs, meaning less people paying income taxes, meaning less revenue for the US Treasury. The very wealthy won't be too affected though, because they can live off of the interest of their savings and investments. If you have $20,000,000 in the bank, the interest is pretty decent money and even though you are paying taxes, you are paying tax only on the interest. You can withdraw all of the interest every year, which is probably $1,000,000, live very nicely and you will always have $20,000,000 in the bank. But you won't invest much money in expanding your wealth because the tax penalties are too high. You sit it out, live off of interest and wait for a more favorable environment to begin growing your business again.

So who suffers? The middle class. Those who depend on their jobs. Those who depend on rich people to create new jobs. Those who don't have $20,000,000 in the bank. The people who have six months living expenses in the bank or less. Why is John McCain the least dangerous? Well his base believes that high taxes are bad. He will be forced to not go too far from the conservative camp, though he likes to do whatever he feels like doing, even if it's spitting in the face of the people who put him where he is.

Hillary Clinton. Though she is further left than she is portraying herself, I think she will be looking to correct the negative legacy of Bill Clinton, and build on what is seen as his strength. She will look to solidify that the Democrats were responsible for the successful economy of the 90's instead of the Republican Congress with their tax cuts and their curbing of spending. Since Bush 43 (and the Republican Congress he controlled) spent money like water, she can probably convince the masses that the democrats are better when it comes to fiscal responsibility if (and only if) she and a Democratic Congress can reign in spending. She will have a hard time, but I think she will give it a shot.

Barack Obama. He is the worst in this area in my opinion. Every time I hear him speak he is talking about money for this, money for that. We already have a massive deficit. We need to STOP spending. Raising taxes will not make up for what we are short, because Treasury revenues will decrease. The only way to fix what is wrong with America is to STOP SPENDING. I'll paraphrase a quote from Warren Buffett that I read once that says something like, "If you are in a financial hole the first step is to stop digging." Yet the liberal mentality is to dig some more with the belief that by digging a little more we can bring in more dirt. Now Obama in my opinion is the most likable candidate. He is certainly the best speaker and that can't hurt when you're following the president who is probably the worst speaker in modern presidential politics. Of the three, he is the only one I could see myself sitting down with and hanging out with. But, I see him following in the mold of FDR and bringing in massive expansions of government, higher taxes, and less freedom. For liberals who are all about freedom, why would you accept bigger government which only leads to less freedom?

To be continued.

What's Wrong with America Part II : Liberalism

This is part II of my What's Wrong with America series. The first of about 35 posts ( ;-) ) on liberalism and how liberalism is destroying America.

"Thus says the LORD, "For three transgressions of the sons of Ammon and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because they ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead In order to enlarge their borders." (Amos 1:13 NASB)

Roe vs. Wade. One of the Holy Grails of Liberalism. So desperately clung to, yet what is the meaning? Why the unwavering devotion to this institution of death? I am really at a loss. They say; 'it's a woman's right to choose' or 'it's about privacy'. The decision written by 'Justice' Harry Blackmun cited the right to privacy. So a woman's right to privacy apparently supersedes the right to life of a child. The problem with this argument is that privacy rights are superseded by laws protecting the health and welfare of others. As one of my friends often says, 'You have a right to privacy in your bathroom, but you can't build your bathroom any way you want. It has to be built to code because of the health and welfare of your neighbors.' A woman has a right to medical privacy, but is her right to privacy greater than the health and welfare of the unborn child? If a pregnant woman is murdered, (especially if she is obviously pregnant) the murderer is charged with two counts of homicide. If the unborn child is a person then, why not during an abortion?

The only justification I can come up with for abortion is in the event of an ectopic pregnancy where both mother and child will die as a result. In the case of rape and incest it is tougher, but I believe that giving the child up for adoption is far better than abortion.

Some statistics on abortion. From: The Center for Bio-Ethical Reform

Worldwide there are 46 million abortions per year, 1.37 million in the U.S.
That's 126000 per day and 3700 per day in the U.S.

Strictly U.S. Stats

While many abortions are on those with incomes of $15,000 (28.7%), over 50% are on those with incomes of greater than $30,000.
93% of abortions are because the child is 'unwanted or inconvenient'.
80% of all abortions are by those 20 years old or older.

These worldwide and U.S. numbers are staggering and I honestly fear for God's judgment on America because of it. For while God judged the heathen nations, he judged Israel and judges those who know or who have the opportunity to know Him much more harshly. Abortion is an abomination. It destroys a human life. The liberals will say; 'it's not human until it's born' but I say garbage. It is a human at conception. The DNA in the single celled embryo is the same as that in every cell of the newborn child and the same as in an adult. What do we say next, 'you're not a full human until you're 18, so if you become burdensome we'll just have to get rid of you?'

No. I agree with choice. The choice to wait until you are married to have sex. The choice to accept that the act of sex often results in the birth of a child. I also believe in the choice to either raise the child that you conceived, or if too burdensome, to give it up for adoption so that someone who is unable to have children or who wants another will take care of the child. This is part of the liberal religion that needs to be stopped. It destroys a life. Who knows the contributions to society that are lost due to abortion. Who knows the wonders that are missing in families due to this monstrous practice. I pray that this nation will come around and end this abomination.

What's Wrong with America: Part Ia - Republicanism

I originally wanted to do one post on Republianism, but I see one more is necessary. Amnesty. Conservatives burn at the thought of giving the 20 million or more illegal immigrants amnesty for breaking our laws and coming here illegally. But a Republican president and Republican congress did nothing about fixing the problem. Now, with the do-nothing Democratic congress it surely will not get fixed. Question: Why aren't Republicans siding with their conservative base on this issue? Answer: Because Big Business wants cheap labor.

Cheap labor is so desireable for Big Business that they will sacrifice our security for it, and Republicanism lets it go. What happens? You have millions of people being abused, overworked and underpaid. But you, the average American, get your products a little cheaper. But you also get porous borders and a devastating strain on our social programs. Add to that the millions of people who have applied to come here legally who can actually add real benefit to our society who are left in the cold.

If I was someone in Mexico or Guatemala or whereever I lived that could somehow sneak into America and provide a better life for my family, I would probably do it too. After all, there is very little deterrence. In fact, big business and the Republican Party has invited you in. The Democrats have invited you in too, (because they want your vote) but the Republicans are the ones who claim to protect America. So you come here illegally, you lay brick for $8 an hour, putting every other bricklayer out, because it is just too low a wage for an American to compete with. Or maybe you wash dishes for $3-4 an hour. Either way, it's more than you would make in your own country, but it hurts America.

Since business wants this continual flow of cheap labor, they leave our borders open. But open borders comes with another consequence besides putting Americans out of work. If poor Mexicans can cross the border, how about well-funded terrorists? How about gang members and drug dealers? We know that 90-95% of the people coming here illegally just want to try to make a better life for their families, but what about the rest? When you are dealing with millions of people, 5-10% is a large number of people who are up to no good. We are producing enough criminals out of our own population, we don't need to import anymore thank you. Truly it is just a matter of time before a major terrorist attack is carried out in America due to our open border.

So what should we do? Build a real border fence from San Diego to Brownsville, and then one across the entire northern border. Cut off all benefits for those here illegally with the lone exception being TRUE emergency healthcare. That means no school for children here illegally, no welfare, nothing. Slam employers who hire illegal immigrants. If there are no jobs and no benefits, the ones here with the intent of bettering the lives of their family will leave. They will self-deport. It will be possible to eventually deport most of the ones who remain as we catch them for speeding, DWI, drug crimes etc. Then we make it easier and faster to come here LEGALLY, while still ensuring that those coming here legally do not have criminal records, and are not carrying disease. We should not let people come here illegally and spit in the face of everyone who did it 'the right way,' just so big business can keep the profits soaring and the Republicans (and Democrats too) can keep getting their campaign contributions.

What's Wrong with America: Part I - Republicanism

I have realized there are a number of problems with America, and the problems are not minor. We are showing the sort of wear-and-tear that the Roman Empire showed. There are serious cracks in the armor of this mighty nation. I will have at least two more posts which go into other facets of what's wrong, but I will start with the Republican Party and Republicanism. For those who do not know me politically, I am an independent conservative so what I am about to say is not the ravings of a liberal loon. I have given much thought to this subject. Anyway, that's enough introduction.

Republicanism. To the left, it is a word that means right-wing extremism, overzealous Christians and Big Business without regulation. This business of Big Business is what I really want to address. Republicanism (not to be confused with conservatism) wants business to be able to do whatever is necessary in order to bring profits. I voted against Texas Proposition 15 ($3 billion for cancer research) because I know that the money won't cure cancer. The problem is that the drug companies and research firms don't want to cure cancer. Why would they when they keep getting money for research? If they find a cure, they'll be out of business, the money will stop rolling in.

The bottom line is this: there is a cure for cancer, it is the human body. The human body fights cancer all the time. But over the last 50 years (especially the last 20) the increase in chemicals in everything has skyrocketed. Our bodies are spending so much time trying to get rid of the toxins we keep poisoning ourselves with that they can't fight off things that they normally would. We have also handicapped our bodies with medication. Taking medication for everything has made our bodies weak in that they don't have to fight anything, as the toxins are getting stronger and stronger. We need more and more medicine. Sure people are living longer, right now. But we're entering an era where many of us will live longer than our children, becuase they are starting out with their systems being bombarded.

What about the food we eat? The most important thing our bodies need to fight toxins has been relegated to what is most convenient. I won't discuss the lack of the family meal in our current society here, but that is a problem as well. But we eat what is easy, what is quick regardless of what is in it. I have taken a lot of Chemistry courses, but I still do not know many of the ingredients in the average person's food. Here's an idea: eat more food with one ingredient. For example, I like to eat this yellow thing that has one ingredient. It's one ingredient is; banana. How about the yellowy-orange things whose one ingredient is orange? Those are pretty good. You see, we were not designed to eat massive amounts of chemicals designed to taste like something. Most packaged food is so stripped of nutrients that flavor chemicals (chemicals that make the substance you are ingesting taste like food) have to be added. Why is this the case? In order to take our kids to piano, ballet, soccer, boy scouts, girl scouts, karate and swimming lessons, we eat on the go. The problem with the one ingredient foods are that they usually go bad in a week. So you strip all of the nutrition out and it lasts forever...literally. But now it doesn't taste so good, so you add the neurotoxin monosodium glutamate (aka glutamic acid, glutamate, natural flavor, artificial flavor etc) which stimulates your brain to give you a 'high' and add flavor to make it taste like something. But you get zero nutrition.

What does business get besides a pass from Washington? Big profits. All these people who are getting no nutrition will need medicine later in life because their bodies will inevitably break down. The cost of processing all of this 'food' is relatively cheap because most of it is done in a chemistry lab somewhere in large quantities. (probably in New Jersey) Then drug companies get billions of dollars for research and the sale of medicine to treat all of these problems that should not occur in the first place. Look at the obesity epidemic in America. How about childhood diabetes? These did not exist 30-40 years ago. At the very least they were the exception. But now it's a 'genetic' problem. "Hey Fred, you've put on a lot of weight. Yeah Sam, it runs in my family." Really? Roughly 10% of America was fat 25 years ago now its 30%. But sure, it must be 'bad genes.'

Americans have taken the easy road, and Big Business along with Republicanism has helped them all the way to the bank, wholly unchecked by the government who is supposed to look out for us. Instead, Congress is worried about raising money for their re-election campaign. They are not doing their job of protecting America, but instead are looking out for their own bottom line. They are trying to figure out how when they get out of office, they can know the loopholes in the system well enough to make $20 million consulting Big Business on how to best rip off the American people legally. This problem is not just Republicans, but they are the bigger offender in this area. It is why the health of this nation is deteriorating, why our borders are wide open and many other reasons. More to come...
