I found this video from the Gray Ghost blog over at Townhall.
He makes some good points. I think conservatives definitely need to hit the ground for the next two and four years. I foresee the fairness doctrine (or some form of it) coming soon. Informed Americans can dictate American policy, and the liberals can't have that. They are going after Rush right now, but I think they will really go after the local conservative hosts, and the smaller national ones. They will then attack the internet and churches. I believe their goal will be to legalize the 20,000,000 illegal immigrants before 2012 and to do that, they need to shut down talk radio. If they legalize the 20,000,000 illegals they will be nearly unstoppable in 2012 and beyond, even with a great conservative running. If conservatives want to save this nation, we need to work hard. I plan on writing Senators Cornyn and Hutchison as well as my Congressman, Michael McCaul on a weekly basis to keep the pressure on the Republicans to do their job, and lobby for conservative principles in Washington. Retake the House in 2010! Jindal '12!

Good on ya Nestor!
It'll be interesting to see what happens in '12, tho I can't see Obama losing..at least at this point. After all that hullabaloo w/ him getting elected, I don't see the majority turning on him in 4 years.
I'd almost be curious to see what the Republicans would say if he did win against a "real conservative". They couldn't use the reasoning for the loss that they've made w/ McCain. I've said this before.. I'm quite sure no Republican, conservative or not, would have beaten Obama. Not this year. Not coming off a Repub in office for the last 8 years, not to mention Bush's approval rating. This country wanted a change. And I don't mean just "change", but a different party.
I'm lookin forward to you and Reck during the primaries..Jindal vs. Palin!
Palin's gonna b*tch slap Jindal :)
Actually, I'd like to see Jindal on the ticket, tho I honestly need to look at his record alittle more. But what I've seen I like. My question is: can he shoot?
BO's been prez for what, 2 wks? We'll see what happens over the next 4 yrs. He's already earnin the "tax cheat cabinet" tag. Imo, foreign policy will probably do him in. People are so convinced that the economy is the worst in recorded history that even if it doesn't improve, or worsens, I don't think he'll be held accountable.
Haven't ya'll heard???? "PAlien" (tm) has been preselected (just like former Senator Clinton was) to be the next nominee.
I wish it was true. :-)
Stan-
>"PAlien" (tm) has been preselected (just like former Senator Clinton was) to be the next nominee.
Dud, the media pre-selected Clinton, until they pre-selected Obama.
I think Republicans are already making headway. They are acting like they acted when Clinton took office. They are working hard to expose the pork-spending, wasteful projects etc. If they had been doing that for the first 6 years of the Bush Admin. they would probably still be in power, McCain wouldn't have won the primaries and we'd be looking at a different President. Heck, Obama probably wouldn't have won the primary if conservatism had reigned for the 8 years of the Bush administration.
I am trying to keep telling myself that God allowed Obama to be President, but conservatives need to be vigilant. Conservatives need to learn from the last two decades. We need to hold Congress accountable when liberals are in power, and we need to hold them to an even higher standard when conservatives are in power, to ensure that they are held to conservative principles.
Amen to that brother!
You hypocrites (which Jesus hated the most, BTW), what about accountability when it was the Bush, Bush and Reagan administrations????
Where the *HELL* were you in the recent past????
I guess I just answered my own question.
Stan,
Please actually read what I have written before you call me a hypocrite.
Stan @ 8:12
8:12??!! What the *HELL*?!!?
Will the *REAL* Stanley Rosenthal please stand up.
One thing about your exegesis of the scriptures Stan, Jesus never says anything about hating anyone...ever. Jesus hates sin, not sinners. If you'd ever read the New Testament you *MIGHT* know that.
From my understanding, Jesus considered the hypocrites to be the biggest sinners of all, with perhaps the exception of the "money changers" in the temples to be the bigger sinners.
Stan,
You must have been watching History Channel videos about Jesus.
If you want to know who Jesus was and what he was about, read the Gospel of John. Or since you're a descendant of Jacob,(Israel) maybe you'd like to read Matthew first which was written primarily to a Jewish audience. But in my opinion, The Gospel of John cuts to the chase and shows you who Jesus really is. Read it slowly, let it sink in. Ask yourself questions about it. Get insight from Christians and maybe you will be able to make educated claims about what Jesus was really about, instead of engaging in *HEARSAY*.
Stan,
One thing about the "money changers" that you brought up. What did the money changers do? They changed money with the face of Caesar on it for money that was acceptable in the temple. They also sold animals to those who had traveled from afar. An animal for sacrifice had to be an animal 'without blemish'. How many animals do you think could make a trip of 100 miles and still be without blemish? I seriously doubt Jesus was angry about them exchanging the money engraved with Caesar's face. It's not truly an issue as long as you are not worshiping it (or Caesar) as a false idol, but I think he'd be OK with exchanging money. I don't even think Jesus cared about people buying animals without blemish in Jerusalem instead of trying to make the trip from Galilee (or whereever) and run the risk of the animal getting injured.
Jesus' problem is that this market with the sale of animals and the changing of money was in the Temple, in the Gentile Court. If a Gentile wanted to come to worship during Passover, they couldn't because their designated place of worship was turned into a market. The house of God was defiled, and that's why Jesus was angry. Do you think he would have cared if it was two blocks from the temple? I doubt it.
"Delay is preferable to error"
-Thomas Jefferson
What timing for my Jefferson quote of the day.
“Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance.”
-Old cowboy proverb
Reck,
Are you implying that it is mere luck that Obama is forcing the "Porkulus" package down our throats and telling us we HAVE to act NOW, and the Jefferson quote being: "Delay is preferable to error".
"You may be right. You may be wrong for all I know but you may be right."
Nestor, I'm not on cable TV. I don't watch the History Channel. I watch most of my television online.
I usually make an exception for Saturday Night, though.
N, you forgot the "I may be crazy" line. :)
That Billy Joel; such a kidder.
I'd say that the stars lined up just right for ol Obama. Now (if history is any indicator) we'll pull outta this recession in a couple a yrs and the dimwits will take credit for it based on their "porkulas" spendin.
"This is the end..the only end, my friend.."
Morrison can be a real downer.
Reck, whatever happens good, you're not gonna give Obama credit, and whatever bad happens you're gonna blame Obama 4 it. It's your M. O.
Stan,
That's what the liberals have done with Bush. Anything good that happened is because of the Democrats and Bill Clinton. Anything bad that happened is because of Dick Cheney and his 'puppet', George Bush.
The Dems just try to sweep under the rug how Slick Willie left us unprotected and forced the mortgage companies to lend to people who were unqualified. Then they try to say that Bill Clinton 'balanced the budget'. I'll agree that the budget was balanced during the Clinton administration, but that was because of Newt Gingrich and the Conressional Republicans, not because the Democrats are fiscally responsible.
Reck'Nestor -
> That's what the liberals have done with Bush.
Garbage. In fact when Bush spent funds to fight AIDS in Africa, liberals applauded him (StanNote: "it") for it.
So waht is the meaning of "it" you ask???? Well, if you actually asked "it", I might answer "it". :-)
Stan,
You can pick out a thing or two here or there. Especially on a minor (OK, AIDS isn't truly minor, but its not a point of contention between left and right) issue like that. But when we talk broad philosopy issues, big ideas like fighting the war that was waged against us, tax policy, social policy, right to life, etc. the Dems never supported him.
Stan'Stalin,
Please quote a lib politician givin W. kudos for his attempts to fight AIDS in Africa. Bush committed BILLIONS of dollars to African nations (w/out any accountability). It would seem that the left would love this. But, narry a mention to my reck-election.
Reck, you only seem to listen to right-wing extremists who didn't tell you what was going on.
And there aren't enough liberal politicians out there to be quoting on this. It was liberal talk show hosts that I heard talking positively about Bush's giving money for eliminating AIDS in Africa. Read back in this thread to see what my actual claim is.

Do what? Is that *REALLY* the best you can do (in response)????

So Nestor, do you happen to have a response to what I said (other than to edit what I said)? The way you presented the edit of my comment makes it appear that you'd like to respond to what I say. Please do. :-)
Stan,
Is there anything to say to that? I edited out the undesireable comment, nothing more. I'm sorry your family was run out of their home. But God can use tragedy for good. He brought your family to America, the greatest nation in the history of the world. For at least a couple more years anyway. But you're able to disagree with government and talk all kinds of trash about the former leader of this country...and not go to jail! God Bless America, and God Bless Texas, which leads me to...
Nestor -
> God ... brought your family to America
Garbage (unless you're calling (supposed) God a communist.) Stalin sent my family to America.
