To this guy? I don't think so Mr. Obama.

This is a translation, by Nazila Fathi in The New York Times Tehran bureau, of the October 26 speech by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to an Islamic Student Associations conference on "The World Without Zionism." The conference was held in Tehran, at the Interior Ministry. The text of the speech was posted online, in Persian, by the Iranian Student News Agency (www.isnagency.com). Bracketed explanatory material is from Ms. Fathi.
I thank God that I have had the opportunity to participate in the event today ….We need to examine the true origins of the issue of Palestine: is it a fight between a group of Muslims and non-Jews? Is it a fight between Judaism and other religions? Is it the fight of one country with another country? Is it the fight of one country with the Arab world? Is it a fight over the land of Palestine? I guess the answer to all these questions is ‘no.’The establishment of the occupying regime of Qods [Jerusalem]was a major move by the world oppressor [ the United States] against the Islamic world. The situation has changed in this historical struggle. Sometimes the Muslims have won and moved forward and the world oppressor was forced to withdraw.Unfortunately, the Islamic world has been withdrawing in the past 300 years. I do not want to examine the reasons for this, but only to review the history. The Islamic world lost its last defenses in the past 100 years and the world oppressor established the occupying regime. Therefore the struggle in Palestine today is the major front of the struggle of the Islamic world with the world oppressor and its fate will decide the destiny of the struggles of the past several hundred years. The Palestinian nation represents the Islamic nation [Umma] against a system of oppression, and thank God, the Palestinian nation adopted Islamic behavior in an Islamic environment in their struggle and so we have witnessed their progress and success.I need to thank you for choosing this valuable title for the conference. Many who are disappointed in the struggle between the Islamic world and the infidels have tried to spread the blame. They say it is not possible to have a world without the United States and Zionism. But you know that this is a possible goal and slogan.Let’s take a step back. We had a hostile regime in this country which was undemocratic, armed to the teeth and, with SAVAK, its security apparatus of SAVAK [the intelligence bureau of the Shah of Iran’s government] watched everyone. An environment of terror existed. When our dear Imam [Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the founder the Iranian revolution] said that the regime must be removed, many of those who claimed to be politically well-informed said it was not possible. All the corrupt governments were in support of the regime when Imam Khomeini started his movement. All the Western and Eastern countries supported the regime even after the massacre of September 7 [1978] and said the removal of the regime was not possible. But our people resisted and it is 27 years now that we have survived without a regime dependant on the United States. The tyranny of the East and the West over the world must should end, but weak people who can see only what lies in front of them cannot believe this.Who could believe that one day we could witness the collapse of the Eastern Empire? But we have seen its fall during our lives and it collapsed in such a way that we have to refer to libraries because no trace of it is left. Imam [Khomeini] said Saddam must go and he said he would grow weaker than anyone could imagine. Now you see the man who spoke with such arrogance ten years ago that one would have thought he was immortal, is being tried in his own country in handcuffs and shackles by those who he believed supported him and with whose backing he committed his crimes. Our dear Imam said that the occupying regime must be wiped off the map and this was a very wise statement. We cannot compromise over the issue of Palestine. Is it possible to create a new front in the heart of an old front. This would be a defeat and whoever accepts the legitimacy of this regime [Israel] has in fact, signed the defeat of the Islamic world. Our dear Imam targeted the heart of the world oppressor in his struggle, meaning the occupying regime. I have no doubt that the new wave that has started in Palestine, and we witness it in the Islamic world too, will eliminate this disgraceful stain from the Islamic world. But we must be aware of tricks. For over 50 years the world oppressor tried to give legitimacy to the occupying regime and it has taken measures in this direction to stabilize it. About 27 or 28 years ago they took a major step and unfortunately one of the leading countries made a mistake which we hope will correct it.[an apparent reference to the peace treaty between Egypt and Israel].Recently they [the Israelis] tried a new trick. They want to show the evacuation from the Gaza strip, which was imposed on them by Palestinians, as a final victory for the Palestinians and end the issue of Palestine with the excuse of establishing a Palestinian government next to themselves. Today, they want to involve Palestinians with mischief and trick them into fighting with one another over political positions so that they would drop the issue of Palestine. They want to convince some of the Islamic countries that, since they evacuated the Gaza strip with good intentions, the legitimacy of their corrupt regime should be recognized. I hope Palestinian groups and people are aware of this trick. The issue of Palestine is not over at all. It will be over the day a Palestinian government, which belongs to the Palestinian people, comes to power; the day that all refugees return to their homes; a democratic government elected by the people comes to power. Of course those who have come from far away to plunder this land have no right to choose for this nation.I hope the Palestinian people will remain alert and aware in the same way that they have continued their struggle in the past ten years. If we get through this brief period successfully, the path of eliminating the occupying regime will be easy and down-hill.I warn all leaders of the Islamic world that they should be aware of this trick. Anyone who recognizes this regime because of the pressure of the World oppressor, or because of naiveté or selfishness, will be eternally disgraced and will burn in the fury of the Islamic nations. Those who are sitting in closed rooms cannot decide for the Islamic nation and cannot allow this historical enemy to exist in the heart of the Islamic world.

Is it just me, or does President Tom (Ahmadinejad) look eerily like Casey Kasem?
Nest and Linda,
Been outta town, back now. Havin MAJOR problems w/ my computer. Hope this gets to yall. Probably gonna have to finally get a new one manana. If you don't hear from me for awhile, this is why. It's weird, most a my programs are gone. Unable to access TH, among others.
Ok, it went through.
Anyhow, was in Bastrop this weekend (golf outn). Played like crap. Startn a Verizon in Austin wed or thurs (at 620 and 183). Was there today ckin-out site. Maybe we can finally get together (job should be goin for a couple a weeks). Let me know; best if you contact me here tho.
Alright, gonna mess w/ comput and see if I can figure this freakn thing out.
Wow, in Bastrop. I don't live too far from there. But 620 and 183 isn't too far. Let me know when you're free and we can probably get together. Lots of places we could go, so let me know what works for you.
Really pretty 'round Bastrop. I'd forgotten how hilly was. Love all the pine trees. And the bluebonnets and indian pinks were beautiful. We played Colovista sat and a munie today; greens weren't in very good shape at either tho. Can't remember if you play golf?
Ate a great chicken fried steak at (I think it was called) Gracie Millers in old Bastrop sat nite. Bastrop has grown bigtime since I was last there.
We'll definately figure out some place to meet up, I'll ahve a better idea mid-week.
Can access my blog but Windows shuts down if I go to comments; weird.
Great post BTW. Wish the MSM would put out this info. Funny how he calls us the world oppressor. Unfortunetly most people don't know the truth: that Israel was recreated by the UN, led by the Brits. We (the US) were reluctant at first to support Israel. And the "Palestinians" are actually Jordanians.
Reck, a little further towards Houston and you're in the Lost Pines. Quite beautiful there. Oh, and have you heard of the band Vertical Horizon? IMHO it's where Verizon got their name.
Well, I give; can't access comments on ANY TH blog. Several other sites I frequent that are fouled up as well. Guess IR gonna be my main bloggn spot for awhile, if that's ok Nest. Too busy this week and next to pull the trigger on another comput, probably. What sucks is I gotta go to Kinkos to do all my invoices, ect (printer not workn as well).
Reck,
That's cool with me. I wish I could give you some suggestions, but I don't know anything about computers. Maybe Stan does though. I'm sure he wouldn't charge you too much. ;)
I had to google 'chicken fried steak'. Sounds...chewy.
Golf weekend sounds fun. Didn't play well? Didja keep your head down till you hit the ball? Bet you're pullin up too soon. ;)
Bummer about your puter. Sounds like sabotage. Can Stan account for his whereabouts this weekend?
He does look like Casey Kasem! Gives a whole new meaning to 'long distance dedication'....
First of all, havn to google chicken fried steak is...well..tragic. Can't imagine life w/out CFS. In fact, you could chicken fry a shoe and it'd taste good. (S said she'll give you the recipe).
Yeah, my puter's almost as bad as my putter.
Think we'll hafta do sur picks here.
That's fine. I heard there's a double elim this week? Could be interesting. I like this blog..quick and reliable.
The recipe for the chicken fried shoe? ;) Is it always on a bun, or w/out? From what I gather it's breaded steak. Which just sounds weird. But hey, I'll try anything once.
Ya know how I'm goin to SSC in May to see my college roommate? Well, the other one's coming out from KY to meet me. Thinkin we might hit Yellowstone or Grand Tetons. Very exciting.
Keep your guard up tomorrow...is your youngest gonna try and get you w/ fool's jokes tomorrow? We used to put potatoes in my dad's shoes. I know...CRAZY people!!
Interested to know more about this (supposed) dbl elim.
What's goin on manana? ;)
BTW, chicken fried steak is no more breaded steak than dressn is stuffn.
Your trip sounds excitn!
"(supposed)"...what're you Stan now? I heard it on a teaser!
Tigers lost their home opener tday. :( My favorite Tiger got a homer, tho. ("Who's your favorite Tiger" is sort of a tag line here.) Here's how I chose mine...
This one game, I was sittin behind the Tiger dugout down the 3rd base line, and everytime the boys ran in from the field, they'd all run w/ their heads down, lookin at their shoes. All but one. Carlos Guillen. He'd always look up at us. Now I realize he's not REALLY lookin at us, probably in his own world, but still, I liked it.
So pardon the ignorance, but what's the prefered ball team for you guys?
'Stros, all the way. I think there's a team up around Arlington, but I'm not really sure.
Playn goof again tomorrow; I know, I go through these phases.
My brother's always been super gullible. (Yes, worse than me). So when we were growin up, every Fool's day I'd tell him his shoelace was untied. Sure it was dumb, but I didn't want to be too mean...he fell for everything. So a couple years ago, he spent the night here Mar. 31st. I told my oldest to tell him as he was walkin out that his shoelace was untied, (for old time's sake.) So as he's walkin out in the morning, T says, "Uncle D., your shoelace is untied!" And he responds, "yeah, I know...I'll tie em in the car." DOH! He slipped on his shoes.
One year I did call him to say Dave went to jail. That went over pretty well....
Reck says:
"BTW, chicken fried steak is no more breaded steak than dressn is stuffn."
Oh good googly moogly, here we go again!!
(Shout out to Nestor for "googly moogly". I'm incorporating that into my vocab.)
Love, Sinbad
Sounds pretty gullible. Tough to get people on that particular day. I'm expectn the Rev Wright to call a press conf and say, "April's fools everybody! I was just kiddn." Now that would be funny.
Gotta crashola.
Re: Let's talk...
Dude, I've got nothing to say.
APRIL FOOLS!!!!
But check back tonight 'cause I've already said what I have to say this morning. :-)
Thought For The Day

Finally... a thought I can understand.
K, that last post didn't bode very well for me. No, that didn't come out right at all.
My team is the Mets. They had one good inning offensively yesterday but that's all they needed. The 137.5 million dollar man locked it down. I look at it like this 137.5 mil for one win isn't that impressive, but if he wins say, 140 over the next few years, well, it'll still be pretty darn expensive, but who cares if they're winning.
Who's my favorite Met? It's gotta be Jose Reyes.
Reck,
I know this may put a hold on my application for being a 'real' Texan, but what exactly is Chicken Fried Chicken? CFS I get, but CFC? What's the difference between regular Fried Chicken and CFC?
Now you're just making that up.
I'm thinkin it originated with an order at a restaurant. Waitress asks the guy what he wants and he pulls a James Bond.
"Chicken. Fried chicken".
Waitress runs to the kitchen in a panic and batters the crap out of a drumstick.
Am I right, Reck?? ;)
Linda,
No this is actually NOT an April Fools thing. There is such a thing as Chicken Fried Chicken. (in Texas at least) I've seen it on menus, and it confuses me just as much as you.
Actually I saw it when I googled the steak one. It said it's the same thing as CFS, but using a boneless chicken breast. Texans...just when you think they've got it goin on, they throw ya somethin like this!
Hey I just checked your Patty's blog, Nes, and I missed a lot! Once you post a new one, I kinda forget you guys still might be going on another. I'm mentioning it cuz you addressed me and I never acknowledged it...sorry bout that!
Before I explain "chicken fried" to yall let me explain how it's impossible to score well in golf when you have SEVEN FREAKN THREE PUTTS! Sorry, had to get that outta my system.
Yall got it right, CFC is, well, chicken fried chicken breast. Best to cook either in an electric skillet. Now, chicken fried spam, that's a whole 'nother animal altogether.
OK, but you have to admit, that's kinda silly. Why not just call it fried chicken breast? Oh wait. It's cuz the CFS came first, right? Then people tried to make it all healthier by subbing chicken... and they thought it'd be clever (by Texas standards) to keep the name similar.
And now I'd like to retract that last slam on Texans. (Seeing that everyone reading this lives there.)
;)
Hey Reck,
Wanna think about your picks tnite? D's going to Chicago tomorrow for a couple days, so it'd probly be best to give em to you tnite. Thanks.
R,
Seeing that you can't access TH, thought I'd let you know that Doc has a new 'toon up and he mentioned your 'cheetos' post again. Jeez, if he liked it that much he should have given you first place! (The toon is of Al Gore reading Mein Kampf.) Says your cheetos post is apt cuz of how chubby he made "Big Al". Just tryin to keep you in the loop! ;)
First of all, "real" chicken fried has crackers mixed in to the "breading" and secondly, we call it that just to confuse yankees (no retraction) :)
Be sure and give my regards to Doc. Almost accessed my blog at Kinko's today, but they charge by the minute (and again, I am cheap).
We'll have our picks later this evenin.
Our Survivor Picks
Summer picks Malakal to win both. Eliza to get voted off.
I pick Airi to win reward and Malakal to win immunity. Parvarati to get voted off.
Ours:
Me- Malakal reward, Airai immun. Cirie out.
D- Malakal rew, Airai imm. Ozzy out.
Ha, Parvarati- she's not a car, Reck. ;)
Just curious...do you guys show your picks to each other before the other one picks or is it w/ out the other knowing? We don't let each other know. Doesn't matter, just wondering how you're doin it.
Oh, Doc's engaging in holocaust Denial again? I'm *NO* surprised.
So I told my bro that his shoelace was untied over the phone...he played along. :)
Stan,
Happy April *FOOLS* day! ;)
We pick, then S tells me her picks and I enter them. Then I enter mine; so there's no comparin.
Early one manana and then I'm Austin bound. GN
LOL! and gn again.
I pick, my nose. 'cause the nose knows. :-)
Thought For The Day
"Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the Lord, until He comes and showers righteousness on you." Hosea 10:12
Hey Reck,
Will you be staying in Austin, or will you be going home every night? If you're already on your way, I don't know if you'll get this, but, if you are staying up here, tonight is our men's midweek service. If you're not staying in town, then drive safe and let me know when you have an hour or two and we can try to meet up at a Starbucks or somewhere for lunch. I know there's one on the 183 S frontage, just a few blocks S of 620.
Commutin every day. Friday would be good (for lunch). Ate at the biggest Schlotski's I've ever been to today, near where you're talkn about.
The gas must be killer, plus AM Austin traffic, but on the bright side you get to sleep in your own bed. Friday may work, I work friday evening so I'll have to coordinate with my wife to make sure we don't have any plans in the AM, but that could work. Don't know if you like Rudy's or not, but it would be a good excuse for me to get brisket and creamed corn.
I'm always down for Rudy's. Yeah, the gas (and the traffic) is rough, not to mention 3 hrs drivin; but, it's cheaper than a hotel and I like home. Noticed yall's bluebonnets are behind (like ours). Bastop was full of em. Never seen so many butter cups. Not sure if there's a better route to take to job site (went 35N to 183 to 620). Hit traffic waaaay outside a Austin this mornin.
Just let me know when you know 'bout friday.
I don't know if 281 is better for you. Maybe 281 to 290E to MoPac N (Loop 1 for out-of-towners) to 183. 35 N is a disaster from Kyle all the way through downtown Austin from 630-830. (and sometimes at other times for no good reason)
If 35 IS faster you can take exit 205 (Hwy 80?) in San Marcos, turn right and go about a mile to 21. On 21 for about 10-15 miles and you'll pick up 183. There is still traffic, its a few miles further and there are a few stoplights on 183 before and even after the airport, but you'll avoid the mess on 35.
Aha! Brisket! Maybe D was on to something after all when he said he wanted a brisket from Texas! (I don't know what that is.)
Ouch- 3 hrs. Each way or total?
"Why do you build me up, buttercup, baby, just to let me down...?" (had to beat Stan to it.)
Ha, on Wife Swap tnite there's a martial arts mom trading places with a singin mom. Don't these girls know you're supposed to do BOTH? :)
Side note reg. that. Just found out I lost one of my Choi buddies over Easter. Died of a brain aneurism. We were often paired up together cuz we were the newest. Very sad...
Friday works. Rudy's it is. Let me know what time. I'll need to leave by about 1:30 though. I don't know if you've seen it off of 183, but its off the southbound access just south of Duval Rd. Probably 5 miles from where your job is.
Linda,
Didn't Mayor Hardberger (San Antonio) and Kwame have a bet a few years ago where Hardberger bet a brisket and Kwame bet, I don't know, something from Detroit in the Spurs-Pistons series? Or maybe I'm imagining that.
I have no idea! I hope he didn't wait up for Kwame to pay up...wouldn't take Kwame on his word if you know what I mean.
Alright you two...no talking about Stan and me behind our backs now! ;)
Thought about comin up 281 through J City, we'll see.
Ok L, what exactly DO yall eat up there. Surely yall have briskets? 'Bout an hour and a half each way.
Really sorry to hear about your Choi buddy.
How 'bout 12:30? That'll give us atleast an hour to discuss Lin and Stan.
Surely we do, it's probably just not part of my vocab.
Thanks, I'll miss him.
Very funny, I won't flatter myself.
Oh, and apparently we yankees eat....chocolate. Cuz I have another t-ball fundraiser where I'm lookin at 52 bars of it. Anyone? Anyone?
Try this.."How about some brisket, eh?" Or this.."You guys want some brisket?"
Just tryn to increase your vocab.
Shame you can't be there fri; we'll be kind.
Hey, not that it matters, but I think I said 2 people get outed tomorrow night. I just saw another teaser and it said 2 people get immunity. Which is weird, as I thought teams were getting immunity. There's 11 of em left, so I thought the merge would be next week. Anyway, thought I'd throw it out there.
Thanks for the vocab lesson. Stick to whatever it is you do do...ya'll. ;)
Chocolate's universal.
Besides, yall got us beat on pizza, hot dogs and...stuffn.
Wierd about Sur; guess we just stick to our picks and see what happens.
As much as I butcher the english lang, I'm really in no position to say much.
Told Doc you were outta service on TH and you sent your regards, and I think he took it as you got the boot due to your posts. Said it was your computer. I hope he was kidding as you're probly the most non-offensive person I know. Hard to tell if he was joking due to we're typing.
Yeah, picks are good either way. Your goin DOWWWWNNNNN! (Your prediction is true so far, tho, w/ you and I battlin for 3rd and 4th!)
Doc says:
>Tell Reck to buy a new laptop
...one of those neat Apple notebooks that fits into an interoffice envelope.
I''ve had my eye on those things....I hear you can even spill stuff on 'em.
Sorry I said anything...never wise to be a 'go between'. (Just didn't want the wrong idea out there.)
You know, 4th ain't that bad. I always tell people (when the subject comes up) that I was 21st in my graduatn class (HS). I omit the part about there bein only 26 in the class.
Gotta ask if you really had that few people in your class. It's gotta be a joke, eh?
That's alright. Thanks for puttn the word out for me. Tell him I can't do the notebook thing, the cheesy fingers (from too many cheetos) is too hard to clean.
Sleepy here, gn.
Oh, thanks for the compliment, yankee ;)
Private school, first graduatn class. Actually, my class was the first 10th, 11th and 12th grade class there. Was kinda cool always bein the oldest. We reallt got smoked alot in sports tho those first couple a years.
Habla manana.
My class was 260ish.
G'luck w/ the drive.Habla manana. (?) Think I got it right. I'm learning.
Which reminds me...got my eye on a silver bracelet that says in Italian, 'Ancora Imparo'. Translation, "I am still learning". I think it needs to be mine.
gn
I think we could all ancora imparo.
Got an e-mail about softball standings and we're tied for 6th place. There are 7 teams :(
Have a good day e1.
Due to your post to Nestor yesterday, I had a wildflower dream. In a camper heading south w/ 2 friends and they were just everywhere and stunning. Very cool. :)
I'm considering getting a Mac eventually. Probably not for awhile, but I don't know anyone who has a Mac who has anything bad to say about them.
FYI, my graduating class was about 402, however, when I was a Freshman there were about 700.
I looked up your highways on my map on the wall. Ya know, just in case I decide to show. So do you two have to plan what you're wearing tomorrow? You know..."I'll be the guy with the red hat" kinda thing? I suppose Reck could pick out Nestor from his picture, but you better have a password or something, so Nestor doesn't think he's gettin hit on at Rudy's. ;)
Sorry Nest, not gonna be in Austin manana. They moved me out till monday (electric and a/c get precedent). However, I will be there all week next week, FOR SURE. So, since I've cancelled on you twice now, you tell me what day and time next week and I WILL be there.
Went home a different route today. Saw a Rudy's on 620, don't think it's the one you mean tho. Went through Lakeway? and Bee Cave to 290 to 281 (long drive) even tho I live off of 281. Thought I lived NW didn't ya :) Think I'll stick to 46 to 35N (much faster).
Sorry 'bout cancelln again; unfortunetly painter/texture guys are low men on the totem pole.

Interesting thing happened tday...walkin in CVS and I'm passin this guy in the isle as you do...and he looks at me and says, "thanks for the grin." It always surprises me when people engage you when you're not expecting it, ya know? Actaully made me feel good for some reason. It's nice when people are nice.
Ha! I just noticed "isle". That's funny...apparently I was on an island today!
No big deal Reck. We'll figure something out. Did you take 35 in the morning? I was busy most of the evening at work because there was a MAJOR accident on 35 around 4 AM I think. I need to check news 8 Austin to find out details.
I figured the other way would be longer mileage wise, but wasn't sure if it would be faster due to avoiding traffic.
I think that's the first Rudy's I've ever tried. We got one here in Spring now. I understand that they originate from SA.
I love Ben Miller's cole slaw. Probably 'cause I'm into Italian dressing style cole slaws (the BBQ place I used to work at is the only other restaurant that I know of that's Italian Dressing style over mayonayse based.)
I've been to 4 different Rudy's. Amazingly I never went to the original one in Leon Springs. (NW San Antonio) I've been to the one by Sea World and NE San Antonio as well as 2 in Austin. They're all great, probably since they use the same rub and sause on all of their stuff. I think you can buy the rub online (I know you can get it at the stores) and they sell the sause online.
Stan,
Did you mean Ben Miller or Bill Miller? If you mean Bill Miller, I don't know, I just can't get into it. I guess when I get barbeque, I like brisket and sausage and I didn't like either at Bill Miller's. The town I live in is pretty famous for sausage BTW. If you guys are driving down 290, you might want to check out Southside Market. Good sausage, but I honestly haven't had anything else there.
You're correct, Bill Miller. Note that all I raved about it is their cole slaw ... and isn't central Texas famous for their sausage? There's Elgin, and there's Lockhart ... did I hit your town (actually, I had the impression that you were further into the hill country)?
Yes I did. I now recall that Southside Market is in Elgin.
Anybody ever seen Galipoli (sp?), just watched it. Very good movie.
Bill Millers sucks. Except for their sweet tea. As far as their slaw goes, they've recently changed it (yeah, ate there awhile back) and it's passable.
Came in 35 this mornin, traffic was awful. Took the scenic route home as they gave me the boot around 11, very pretty country. Just too long goin 281 to 290 to 71.
Must sleep (game day manana). Think we'll take em to 6 innings this time. And you never know, they could put us up against the Tigers and get us our first victory. I'm pretty sure we're better than KC :)
I had ribs @ the Spring Rudy's, and they simply weren't cooked well done enough. Ribs must be well done, IMHO. As close to burned as possible, IMHO. I don't know if the other locations serve it like that, as it was the first time I recall trying their ribs. Otherwise, it's a fine example of central Texas BBQ, IMHO.
That's right Stan, you hit it. 300ft to the east and I'd save 500 bucks on property taxes. But as it is, I still live in Travis county, and there's no runoff for me to vote in.
I don't want to start a *FLAME* war (because we can't smell that great BBQ smell on a blog), but, I prefer Lockhart sausage over Elgin sausage.
:-)
I'm not big on ribs, but my wife love them (on the rare occasions that she eats meat) When we lived in SA there was a pretty good place, Tom's Ribs. My wife thought it was good at least. But you have to go to the one on 1604. The one on Nacogdoches Rd. simply was not that good.
Well, I don't know because I've never been to Lockhart. But, I've seen a billboard that says they have clean bathrooms...so they've that going for them! (Go ahead and name that movie)
Nestor, I think I've tried Southside's beef and turkey. I recall nothing rememberable either spectacularally good nor bad about either.

> Interesting thing happened tday...walkin in CVS and I'm passin this guy in the isle as you do...and he looks at me and says, "thanks for the grin." ...
As I was leaving a Starbucks the other day, I caught some guy reading my bumper stickers on my car, and I told him: "I'm glad you passed the test." :-)
Yeah, I don't know. We usually just get sausage from there. As far as Barbeque, I haven't had better than Rudy's since I've been in Texas. I'd like to go to Stubb's one day, but I think they are more known for music than BBQ.
Here's what I eluded to earlier.

Nestor, going inside towards Houston on 290, check out (I think it's called) Burton Sausage Company. Not for their sausage, but their beef jerky. It's quite good!
Stan says,
>As I was leaving a Starbucks the other day, I caught some guy reading my bumper stickers on my car, and I told him: "I'm glad you passed the test." :-)
???
It's good to know you're befuddling people in real life, too. ;)
What do the stickers say? C'mon, for Nestor and Reck's amusement....
Car in front of me the other day had "Support Your Local Brewery" and "Drink Michigan Beer". Now the sentiment is fine...but a bumper sticker...on your CAR? That's some nerve. Talk about a target...
Well now, I gotta go w/ Sran and back the Elgin sausage. Or maybe it was Nestor. That was aloota sausage talk. Wish I had some to make for breakfast, guess it'll hafta be bacon..mmm...bacon.
Wasn't Support Tour Local Brewery a movie, maybe it was sheriff.

Don't know why I keep *DBL* postn.
R,
I did your research for you (lazy), and Stan prefers the Lockhart OVER the Elgin. Wierd you don't agree, you seem to agree on everything else.
Hey Nest, I looked up your town. Pretty nice website! Looks like you have a fine train station. I've got my eye on the Hogeye Festival in October! ;)
Yeah, Stan and I *ORE* practically twins IMHO.
"Every thing you thought was center is off-kelter". Bored Bob
lmao! (IMHO) Stop it.
Since your the *OFICIAL* in charge of Sur, you make the call. But, I like the idea of doin both; kinda a consolation prize thingy.
Ok, gotta brag on my youngest. Got her TAKS readn score and she only missed one, awesome! Can you tell I'm beemn?!
Well Nest, the more things change, the more they stay the same I guess. Just gotta a call from GC in Austin and they failed their plumbing inspection and they got three others monday; so the earliest I'll be back is tuesday (and that's not locked down yet). I know I'll be there next week, when I know for suer what days I'll let you know. New construction pays well, but boy it's frustratn. But who knows, maybe I'll make that wed group a yours now.
I like the idea of doing both too. So we've decided. :) Actually I think we're down to 10 people now, so we may want to draft before Thurs. I'll see if I can find out when the merge is.
Wow! Good for her! I'm thinkin TAKS must be like our MEAPs.
Good luck tnite!
Yep, they're merging this week. Should the order of the draft be current leader on down? (I'm not sure how much of an advantage it is going first, when you have to wait so long for your second.) See now I'm gettin all excited again!
Ah luv Fut Wuth!

3 stickers. 1 says "Endless War" with the "less" scratched out and "This" written over it (by original bumper sticker design. It's a MoveOn.org promoted bumper sticker), another says "Obama 08", and this is the other -

Two errors, first I forgot to respond to Lin's "???". Linda, it was a reading test. :-)
And I posted a bad link. Hopefully this will work pointing to the 3rd. bumper sticker -

Ok, I'll forget trying to post a link to the actual sticker. The 3rd sticker says "Schwantz Lefantz".
Endless War and Obama 08? Well at least the Schwantz Lefantz bumper sticker is original. I've seen enough of those other two.
Since we're talkin stickers, here's a few that made me chuckle...
Gun Control is Hitting Your Target Repeatedly

Buckle Up! It makes it harder for the aliens to suck you from your car.
I've had this long standing idea for a bumper sticker. Let me let vett it via yous guys/gal:
Anti-abortion Rhetoric: It Stops A Thinking Mind
and the companion/optional sticker that would go along with it:
YOUR'S!
Nestor, I see Obama stickers here in Houston fairly regularally. I used to see Hillary stickers, but I haven't seen one in quite a while.
It's been even longer since I've seen a McCain't sticker.

> The one on Nacogdoches Rd.
Nacagdoches isn't known for BBQ. It's known for being Texas' oldest city, from my recollection.
I think it's an old Indian thing.
Stan,
Reg your sticker... here's my take...the "YOURS" is sorta mandatory, without it the sticker makes me cringe. So I think it would have to be on the same sticker, maybe following ellipses. Good play on words, but the play is nervy w/ such a delicate subject. Even pro-choicers don't like abortion, they just want the choice. "Stops a thinking mind" may backfire on the cause even tho its intended message is quite clever.
Stan,
Nacogdoches is also a road in Texas. I was referring to the Tom's Ribs on Nacogdoches Rd., and how I prefer the Tom's Ribs on 1604. It's actually right next to Hagee's church.
I said road in TEXAS, I meant road in San Antonio. My bad.
Just guessn here, but I'm thinkn Hagee's maybe visited Tom's Ribs a few times.
It's very plausible. He doesn't look like he shies away from the baby backs.
I realized that ya'll were talking about a road in SA. I just wanted to point out where the road's name came from. Its like almost 10 miles North of Lufkin.
Lin, yes, the joke will go over the heads of some of the brainwashed. :-)
Oh and Stan, if you print up that sticker, make sure you lose the apostrophe in "your's". Just sayin...;)
I say leave the apostrophe in.
Here's a bumper sticker idea.
Liberalism: It's just not right.
Nestor, print it as "Liberalism: It's just not right-wing" and I'll put it on my car.
Also, is there any possibility of adding a 'Recent Comments' thing on blogger? If so, it would be a welcome addition to your blog.
About the recent comments. I enjoy that on other blogs. I've looked for it and can't find it. But maybe there is a way. If I can find a way to add it, I will.
