This is part II of my What's Wrong with America series. The first of about 35 posts ( ;-) ) on liberalism and how liberalism is destroying America.
"Thus says the LORD, "For three transgressions of the sons of Ammon and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because they ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead In order to enlarge their borders." (Amos 1:13 NASB)
Roe vs. Wade. One of the Holy Grails of Liberalism. So desperately clung to, yet what is the meaning? Why the unwavering devotion to this institution of death? I am really at a loss. They say; 'it's a woman's right to choose' or 'it's about privacy'. The decision written by 'Justice' Harry Blackmun cited the right to privacy. So a woman's right to privacy apparently supersedes the right to life of a child. The problem with this argument is that privacy rights are superseded by laws protecting the health and welfare of others. As one of my friends often says, 'You have a right to privacy in your bathroom, but you can't build your bathroom any way you want. It has to be built to code because of the health and welfare of your neighbors.' A woman has a right to medical privacy, but is her right to privacy greater than the health and welfare of the unborn child? If a pregnant woman is murdered, (especially if she is obviously pregnant) the murderer is charged with two counts of homicide. If the unborn child is a person then, why not during an abortion?
The only justification I can come up with for abortion is in the event of an ectopic pregnancy where both mother and child will die as a result. In the case of rape and incest it is tougher, but I believe that giving the child up for adoption is far better than abortion.
Some statistics on abortion. From: The Center for Bio-Ethical Reform
Worldwide there are 46 million abortions per year, 1.37 million in the U.S.
That's 126000 per day and 3700 per day in the U.S.
Strictly U.S. Stats
While many abortions are on those with incomes of $15,000 (28.7%), over 50% are on those with incomes of greater than $30,000.
93% of abortions are because the child is 'unwanted or inconvenient'.
80% of all abortions are by those 20 years old or older.
These worldwide and U.S. numbers are staggering and I honestly fear for God's judgment on America because of it. For while God judged the heathen nations, he judged Israel and judges those who know or who have the opportunity to know Him much more harshly. Abortion is an abomination. It destroys a human life. The liberals will say; 'it's not human until it's born' but I say garbage. It is a human at conception. The DNA in the single celled embryo is the same as that in every cell of the newborn child and the same as in an adult. What do we say next, 'you're not a full human until you're 18, so if you become burdensome we'll just have to get rid of you?'
No. I agree with choice. The choice to wait until you are married to have sex. The choice to accept that the act of sex often results in the birth of a child. I also believe in the choice to either raise the child that you conceived, or if too burdensome, to give it up for adoption so that someone who is unable to have children or who wants another will take care of the child. This is part of the liberal religion that needs to be stopped. It destroys a life. Who knows the contributions to society that are lost due to abortion. Who knows the wonders that are missing in families due to this monstrous practice. I pray that this nation will come around and end this abomination.

Say ya'll, are you and Reck having to weed out the spammer (or is he just not here and on Reck's blog)? You might've noticed that I've been dealing with the spammer (and it only appears to you that it's been less recently. In fact, the more I delete or pre-delete (they call that "moderating", a term I hate in that context) him, the more he spams me (I still see what doesn't get out on the blog), I'm certain he considers it as a challenge ...
But the point is, he followed me to cyberstalk, and not ya'll (because the spammer's a conservative.)
Hey Nestor: (your fave) Huckabee was on Saturday Night last night on Weekend Update, and it was a pretty funny sketch. You might want to see if it's up on YouTube ...

Interesting choices you believe in. I didn't see birth control mentioned in there. Do we have THAT choice?
I'd like to apologize for anyone who doesn't know me who reads this. I could have probably written a masters thesis on this subject, but I tried to be brief. My main point was to discuss a symptom of the problem, liberalism. I will discuss over a few posts a number of symptoms of liberalism, of which abortion is but one. However, I meant to attack the practice of abortion, not those who get abortions.
I understand that there can be complicated circumstances which surround an abortion that are challenging. However, I believe that abortion is not the answer, regardless of the circumstances surrounding the pregnancy. I feel that the only reason for abortion, is when both the mother and child will die as a result. I know cases of rape or incest can be challenging, but I believe that when we do what is right, God can work through the challenges. I believe that when we make the hard right instead of the easy wrong, we will be blessed in the end.
Linda,
About birth control. Yes.

> I believe that abortion is not the answer
Hmm, actions speak louder than words. You attack President Clinton, even though abortion rates were down under his adminstration and up during "DWI" Bush's administration.
Look in the mirror my friend, you'll see a ChINO, IMHO.
Well the most recent stats I've heard have been that Bush's abstinence only plans have actually DECREASED teenage pregnancy and abortions. I'll get the numbers later. However, while the decreasing trend is encouraging, it is not enough. Our nation needs to stop permitting this practice.
About Huckabee,
The SNL sketch was pretty funny. I guess you could say he's my fave of those left in. I don't know if I can bring myself to vote for him though. I am really at a loss. Thursday when I go to vote, if I vote for who I think is the best still left in, I think I'll vote for Huck. If Giuliani or Romney are still on the ballot, I may vote for one of them. Or I may just vote in the Dem primary.
In Travis County, there are very few Republicans running for offices like DA, Judgeships, Tax Assessor, etc. In order to have an effect on those races, I'd HAVE to vote on the Dem primary. My congressman, McCaul is unchallenged on the Republican side so that doesn't really drive me at this point. (I wanted to vote against him) At US Senate, the guy running against Cornyn seems crazy from the blurb responses I read. I don't think he would stand a chance against Cornyn. He wants Texas to secede from the Union. Stanley would be forced to move as I don't think he would be able to live in a conservative republic of Texas, if there wasn't all the blue states to balance it out.
Actual "stats" mean nothn to liberals. It's kinda like the Coulter story, liberals will believe anything. How else can you explain Obama's success?
The irony is that these liberals (many who are athiest)continuelly ridicule those who have faith in God, while at the same time puttn all their faith in the unproven words of men. Never forget their mantra.."the bigger the lie, the more they'll believe it."
Patiently waiting for Stan's dig at "puttn all their faith in the unproven words of men." (Just described some people's view of the Bible.)
Actually liberals put all their faith in the PROVEN words of men. The words of Karl Marx, Vladimir Lenin, Josef Stalin, etc. Liberalism has been proven to not work everywhere its tried, yet lets try it here, because maybe we're different.
I think Stan's hoping for change... or changing for hope...or hopes there's a change......if only there were a candidate who promised to bring us change.
There is a candidate who hopes we can change.
Lol!! I like changing for hope!
I don't believe that overturning Roe v Wade will help this country with the problems we're facing right now.
Reck, Nest, what's with all the "straw man" argumantation/attack? Y can't ya'll see that it's not gonna work. Is it because ya'll lack in the "vision" department???? (StanNote: I have complimented Reck for having some "vision" in the past, IMHO he could have much more if he refused to allow his "vision" to be distracted by his believing/spouting lies about his opposition.)

Sure you will. BTW: What you mainly hear for your heros (the Rushs, Blecks etc.) are lies. When they do throw something in that's actually true, they do it in an effort to pass off their fiction as fact
Speakn of change, Stan. Hopefully Obama will bring us the same kinda change Bill Clinton did; a conservative majority in both houses of congress.

("from your heros", not "for your heros" like I typed by mistake ... )
Stan,
Reck and I are very clear about what we believe. What do you believe? You constantly accuse us of straw man, yet you don't back up your beliefs. You just attack other people's beliefs. It's like saying, 'I don't know what I like, but I don't like that. Maybe I like this. I don't know why I like this, but I do.'
I know what I believe as it has been forged through experience. I may be young, but I have seen and done more and been more places than most people will their whole lives. This is not to boast, simply a statement of fact to explain why I believe the things I believe. My experiences don't make me wise on their own, yet they have given me insight to the world outside of America. Believe me, it's not all it's cracked up to be.
Liberal's today only know how to attack others beliefs/stances. The reason they don't state their own beliefs is because they either hold none, or their ideas don't stand up to logic.
They are the true *WHINERS*
That's why they constantly accuse others of what they themselves do. It's the oldest trick in the book.
Linda,
I don't think overturning Roe v. Wade alone will be enough to fix the problems. But it is a symptom of the problem. It is something that needs to be changed. I am trying to figure out the next issue that I want to tackle. I think the next one will require more research.
Nestor,
I respectfully disagree and won't waste our time trying to debate it.
Looking forward to the next one.

I understand that there's this dud named Chuck Rosenthal that's becoming available. Perhaps you should run him.
Hey Nest, I have a suggestion for your next "democrat/liberal/commie" post...their love of Castro.
Steven Spielburg after meeting w/ inFidel, "the most important three hours of my life". Or, Dan Rathernot, "Hello Mr. President"; "Thank you Mr. President"; "Thank you again Mr. President". I don't know if you recall Rather's boot-lickn interview of Castro, but it was sickenin.
Reck -
> "democrat/liberal/commie" ... their love of Castro.
Straw man(s). Attack the real Dems and the real liberals, as per usual, you're missing your targets.
Say Reck, are you a conservative?
Stan,
You can't deny the Hollywood left's love of Castro and Chavez. You also can't deny the uneducated's love of the rapist/murderer Che Guevara.
Sure I can.
PING Reck:
Dude, you must've missed my question. I'll repost it 4U -
